I went to a figure drawing class last night. It was my first in eight years. I’ve really missed the working from life, models and landscape. Projects and work are great to have, but can really keep one from the truly enjoyable sensory experiences of being an artist.
I decided to keep it simple, gray shades of charcoal, one warm pastel. There was a good strong light source, which made the clarity of the shadows crisp.
Above was the long pose, 2 hours. Below are warm up poses, 1-5 min.
The class is held every Saturday night, at the Red Door Studio, in KCK.
