As much as I would like to portray myself as an infallible person, a disciplined artist with the utmost consistency and follow through, people know me too well. Years and years ago, back when I was still in art school, my roommate and good friend’s mom commissioned from me a portrait of her son. For whatever reason, though I never forgot the commission, I never did it. Now, many years later I can scratch that itch out of my brain and off my to-do list.
Though it does not make up for my gross irresponsibility, it may have worked out the best for her, as I most surely am better now than I was then. Also, he now has a son, and so I was able to include him in the drawing. Also, I guess it does say something for my follow through, that even though it may take up to a decade, I will eventually get around to it. Anyway, here it is:
